Terms of Service
Effective May 2026 · [email protected]
Welcome to Azelia ("we", "our"). Azelia is a self-hosted, local-first tool: the software, your media, and your settings live entirely on your own machine. By downloading, installing, or using the software ("the Service") you accept these Terms. If you disagree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
Azelia is a suite of AI-powered tools for podcast creators. The flagship tool, Azelia Clips, extracts and ranks short clips from episodes via a multi-agent pipeline running on your machine.
Azelia operates on a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model: you provide your own Anthropic API key, or use your existing Claude Code subscription. You are billed for inference directly by Anthropic (or pay nothing extra if Claude Code covers your usage).
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Process content you do not own or do not have the appropriate license for.
- Use the Service to generate illegal, defamatory, deceptive, or rights-infringing content.
- Bypass or reverse-engineer the closed components of the Service (the "Azelia" brand, the azelia.ai domain, and brand visual assets).
- Resell the Service or repackage it under a confusable brand without a prior written agreement.
Breach may result in revocation of any limited brand or trademark permissions we may grant you.
3. Intellectual property
3.1 Your content
You retain all rights to your episodes, transcripts, generated clips, captions, speaker labels, and any other material you process with the Service. Because processing happens on your machine, we do not receive, store, or claim any license over your content.
3.2 Our software
The Azelia source code (web client, local backend, multi-agent pipeline, installer) is distributed under the MIT license. You can clone, modify, and redistribute it under MIT terms.
What is NOT covered by the MIT license and remains owned by Azelia:
- The "Azelia" name and brand.
- The azelia.ai domain and any official subdomains.
- The Azelia logo and visual identity assets.
3.3 Contributions
If you contribute code, feedback, or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without limitation to improve the Service.
4. Third-party integrations
The Service connects directly from your machine to external providers you configure: Anthropic (for the AI pipeline), Google / YouTube (optional, if you connect your channel for analytics-driven curation), and your own database such as Supabase (optional, if you configure one to store transcripts). Azelia operates these connections on your behalf — we never proxy or store the data exchanged.
By using these integrations you also accept the terms of those providers. Azelia is not responsible for interruptions, changes, or costs arising from those services.
You are responsible for the inference costs billed by Anthropic (or covered by your Claude Code subscription).
5. Availability and warranties
The Service is offered "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, absolute accuracy of AI pipeline results, or absence of bugs. Clips, scores, and metrics are algorithmic suggestions; the final editorial judgment is yours.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Azelia will not be liable for indirect damages, lost profits, loss of data, or replacement costs arising from use of the Service.
6. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Because the Service runs locally, updates to these Terms reach you via:
- The published copy at azelia.ai/terms.
- The repository
CHANGELOG.mdwhen relevant. - A banner in the dashboard for changes that affect your rights or obligations.
Continued use of the Service after a material change has been announced for 30 days constitutes acceptance. Changes to the Privacy Policy always count as material.
7. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Medellín, Colombia, unless the local consumer protection laws applicable to the user provide otherwise.
